19NOV01 - Monday (11:15 PM)

I stepped onto the front porch to take a quick look at the night sky, when I observed a bright flickering white object to the east, heading northward. At first, I thought it was an airplane, that is, until it slowed and finally stopped dead in the sky. I watched it through the branches of a leafless walnut tree as it began to rock back and forth like a pendulum while meteorites fell in the distance. I continued to watch the object until I could no longer stand the cold, then went inside.
